Finger Joint

  • The box joint utilizes the same principles as the finger joint but is instead at a right angle.

  • The sides of each profile or finger increases the available surface area for gluing, resulting in a strong bond.

  • The joint profile is generally created using a finger router bit which cuts multiple fingers with a single pass. Manual cutting of finger joints is time consuming and error-prone so is rarely made this way.
