Doweled Square Ended Butt Joint

• A simple and common method of reinforcing the basic butt joint.

• The dowels assist with alignment during assembly.

• It is possible for dowels to shrink over time which can loosen the joint. However, fluted dowels which expand within the joint are available to counter this problem.
