Edge-to-Edge Butt Joint

  • The simplest way to create edge-to-edge joints. The wood pieces are simply glued and butted together.

  • Ensuring the flatness of all connecting faces is important as gaps will not allow the glue to bond consistently across the joint.

  • Often used to create table tops where the pieces are also reinforced by the table’s underlying frame.
